Privacy at a glance
My Prayer Today is a personalized Christian prayer app. To create a prayer, the service must process the intention and preferences you choose to submit. If you turn on personalized imagery, the app also sends a derived reference of only the person you selected—not the original source photo—to our service and image provider.
1. Scope and who we are
This policy applies to the My Prayer Today iPhone app, the service used to generate prayers and devotional media, and this website. In this policy, “My Prayer Today,” “we,” and “our” refer to the operator of the My Prayer Today service.
This policy does not govern services you choose to use independently, such as Apple’s App Store, iCloud backups, or a messaging app through which you share an exported prayer video. Those services apply their own policies.
2. Information we process
Information you provide
- Your prayer intention and any names or circumstances you include in it.
- Your chosen Christian tradition, voice, music, language, and other prayer preferences.
- Optional onboarding details, such as your first name, faith journey, prayer rhythm, fictional prayer guide, who the prayer is for, and the hoped-for outcome.
- A limited recent-prayer context used to avoid repetition and make the next prayer more relevant.
- Messages you send to our support email.
Optional photo and personalized imagery
- The original photo you choose is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded by My Prayer Today.
- Person selection and initial face detection happen on your device. When a photo contains multiple people, you select which person represents you.
- If you continue, the app creates a derived crop or visual reference of the selected person and uploads it temporarily so devotional imagery can be generated.
- We do not use the photo to identify you, search for you, create a face-recognition profile, or train a personal AI model.
- Generated personalized images may be retained in a small server-side image bank so future prayers can use consistent imagery. This bank is tied to the current photo reference and is removed when you remove or replace that photo, or when we fulfill a deletion request.
Device, purchase, and service information
- An anonymous installation identifier and protected device key used to operate the service without an account.
- App version, language, device integrity signals such as App Attest or DeviceCheck, session credentials, generation identifiers, timestamps, and limited performance or error events.
- Subscription entitlement and transaction status from Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
- Standard network information, including IP address and request metadata, processed by our hosting and security providers.
Our production logs are designed to use allowlisted operational fields and not raw prayer text. Error reports may include identifiers and technical status needed to diagnose a failed request.
Website information
This website does not use advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, newsletter forms, or marketing cookies. Our hosting provider may still process standard request, IP, device, and security information to deliver and protect the site.
3. How we use information
We process information only as needed to:
- Create, personalize, narrate, display, save, and help you share the prayer you request.
- Generate optional personalized devotional imagery from the person you selected.
- Apply content-safety checks and analyze generated imagery for safety and layout quality.
- Provide subscriptions, restore purchases, and enforce service limits.
- Authenticate the installation, prevent abuse or fraud, secure the service, recover interrupted generations, and diagnose failures.
- Answer support and privacy requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising, sell it for money, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We share only the information needed for these providers to perform services for My Prayer Today:
- Cloudflare provides website and Worker hosting, security, databases, and object storage.
- Google Gemini helps create prayer content and analyze generated imagery for safety and layout.
- fal.ai generates devotional images and processes the derived visual reference when personalized imagery is enabled.
- RevenueCat helps us manage subscription entitlements and purchase status.
- Apple distributes the app, processes purchases, provides device-integrity services, and supplies the standard iPhone sharing and platform features you choose to use.
- IMG.LY supplies an on-device media-editing component used to compose prayer videos.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours and apply their own privacy and security terms. You can review the providers’ current policies at Cloudflare, Google, fal.ai, RevenueCat, Apple, and IMG.LY.
We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or security incidents, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service. Where permitted, we will require a successor to honor this policy for information it receives.
5. How long we keep information
We try to keep information only for the period needed for the purpose described below. Current service settings are:
| Information | Typical retention |
|---|---|
| Original photo, on-device derived crops, saved prayers, narration, images, and videos | On your device until you remove or replace them, delete the saved prayer, delete app data, or uninstall the app, subject to any device backups you control. |
| Temporary derived person reference uploaded to our service | Up to 24 hours. Upload links are normally valid for up to 10 minutes. |
| Temporary media handled by fal.ai | We request no provider file storage and a media retention period of about 1 hour. |
| Temporary generated images and debug artifacts | Up to 7 days. |
| Active generation and recovery state | About 25 hours. |
| Operational generation metadata and allowlisted metrics | Up to 30 days. |
| Personalized server-side image bank | Until you replace or remove the selected photo, submit a deletion request, or the service is discontinued. |
| Anonymous installation and security records | For as long as needed to provide and protect the service, enforce limits, meet legal obligations, or until an applicable deletion request is completed. Session credentials normally expire after 30 days. |
| Support communications | Until the request is resolved and for any additional period reasonably required for security, dispute, or legal-record purposes. |
These periods may be shortened. We may retain limited information longer when required by law, billing records, security needs, fraud prevention, legal claims, or disaster-recovery backups. When no longer needed, information is deleted, de-identified, or allowed to expire.
6. Your choices and requests
- Photo: In the app, go to Settings → My Photo → Remove My Photo. This removes local photo data and requests deletion of the related temporary reference and personalized server-side image bank.
- Saved prayers: Delete prayers you no longer want from your local prayer library.
- Camera and photos: Change the app’s permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
- Subscription: View or cancel through Apple’s subscription settings.
- Privacy request: Ask to access, correct, or delete applicable server-side information by emailing support@myprayertoday.app.
Because there is no account, we may ask for an installation or generation identifier, an approximate time, or other limited details to locate the relevant data and verify that the request comes from the correct installation. We will not ask you to email your personal photo or prayer text unless it is necessary and you choose to do so. Applicable law may provide additional rights, including objection, restriction, portability, appeal, or withdrawal of consent.
See the step-by-step Privacy Choices page for more information.
7. Security, children, and other details
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted transport, short-lived upload links, protected installation credentials, scoped access, and limited retention. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
My Prayer Today is not directed to children under 13, and the personalized-photo feature is intended only for adults using a photo of themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
International processing
Our providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your state, province, or country. Privacy protections in those locations may differ. We use contractual and other safeguards where required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the revised date here and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless the law permits otherwise.
